Privacy policy
BG GHOST processes your selected image on your device. Opening the site and downloading its files still involves ordinary network requests.
Your images and results
The image you choose is decoded and processed in your browser. The application has no image-upload endpoint and does not store your image or result on its server. Replacing the image, resetting the tool, or leaving the page clears the application's references to the image and result. Browser and operating-system memory management can vary.
A PNG you download is saved wherever your browser stores downloads. Closing the page does not delete that saved file; you control it on your device.
Model downloads and website requests
Processing loads the site's AI model and WebAssembly runtime onto your device. The model is about 192 MB, plus the runtime files. BG GHOST can save downloaded model chunks in your browser's Cache Storage to avoid downloading them again. The cache contains model files, not your selected images or PNG results. The model checksum is verified before cached files are used. Browser settings and storage limits may prevent caching; the tool then uses its normal download workflow.
The hosting service receives ordinary request information, such as your IP address and browser information, when you open pages or download assets. These requests do not contain the image you selected. If site access is restricted, the hosting platform may require sign-in before showing the site.
Optional analytics
BG GHOST uses Google Analytics when configured. Its external script loads only after you allow analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits and engagement. Reports can include approximate country, device type, pages viewed, completed background removals, and download-button clicks. Events can also describe processing time, safe error code, image format, and coarse file-size or megapixel range. The application's analytics events do not include image bytes, filenames, preview URLs, extracted image metadata, or exact dimensions. Page addresses sent by the application exclude query strings and fragments.
Google receives ordinary connection information, including your IP address, when its script or requests load. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled in this analytics setup. Refusing analytics does not stop background removal. Reports only cover measured activity and may omit visitors who decline analytics or block it.
Advertising
Advertising is currently disabled. No ads or empty ad spaces are shown. If we enable ads later, configured placements and the required advertising consent checks must pass before ad scripts or ad units load.
If enabled, advertising providers may receive connection and usage information and use cookies under their own policies. Advertising and analytics are separate choices. Refusing optional advertising does not block the remover.
Browser storage and hosting logs
Your privacy choices are stored in your browser's local storage when available. Model files may remain in the browser cache. BG GHOST does not provide a cloud gallery or image history. Hosting providers may keep ordinary request and security logs under their own retention settings; this page does not promise a specific retention period for those logs.
Your choices
Use Cookie choices in the footer to review or change optional permissions. You can clear site storage and cached files in your browser settings. If you withdraw permission after an optional script has loaded, the page reloads to stop that script. See the Contact page for available support information.
