Make a white background transparent
Use AI to separate a product, mark, or graphic from its white backdrop, then download a transparent PNG. Check the result, especially when the subject is white too.

JPG, PNG, or WebP · up to 20 MBFirst use downloads about 192 MB of AI model files. We can save those files on this device for faster repeat use; images and results are never saved in that cache. Clear site data in your browser to remove it.
Use the original file when possible. Screenshots and heavily compressed JPEGs can leave pale edge pixels around the subject.
White is a color; transparency is alpha
A white-looking background is still made of opaque pixels. Background removal estimates the foreground and replaces background opacity with a transparent alpha channel, which is why the finished file is downloaded as PNG.
Avoid the white-halo problem
Soft shadows, antialiasing, and JPEG compression blend subject edges with white. Start from the highest-quality source and inspect pale or translucent edges over both light and dark backgrounds.
- Prefer the original over a screenshot
- Avoid repeated JPEG exports
- Keep natural soft edges when they belong to the subject
When a simple color selector is not enough
Removing every nearly-white pixel can damage white clothing, product labels, reflections, and logos. The local AI model uses scene context rather than a single color threshold, though complex overlap can still require manual editing elsewhere.
Good to know
Will white parts of my subject disappear?
The model uses context rather than color alone, but it can still mistake white subject areas for background. Check white clothing, labels, and low-contrast edges before using the result.
Why do I see a pale outline?
JPEG compression and soft edge pixels may contain blended white. A higher-resolution original with stronger edge contrast normally helps.
Can I download with a new white background?
BG GHOST exports a transparent PNG. To add a new white background, place that PNG over a white canvas in another editor.
